ToggleWhy Boat Safety Comes First at Bluewaves Watersports
At Bluewaves Watersports, our mission goes beyond offering unforgettable moments on the water. While we’re proud to provide exciting and comfortable boat rental experiences, our highest priority is — and always will be — safety. Whether it’s our clients, their passengers, or anyone they may encounter at sea, we take every precaution to ensure that each excursion is conducted with the utmost care and responsibility.
Why We Take Safety So Seriously
Operating a boat is a privilege, and with that comes responsibility — both toward yourself and others. The sea, while beautiful and inviting, is also an unpredictable environment. This is why we are meticulous in our procedures and transparent in our Terms and Conditions.
Before a rental even begins, clients are required to disclose their level of boating experience. This is not a formality, it is a vital step that allows us to assess safety risks and determine if additional training or guidance is necessary and in some cases we may unfortunately refuse to provide the service. Anchoring, maneuvering, and navigating safely are all tasks that demand familiarity and focus. If a renter requires further assistance or a demonstration, we are always ready to provide it beforehand.
Even when a license isn’t legally required, practical experience and a valid driver’s license are non-negotiable. We believe that understanding boat handling is key to preventing accidents and ensuring that every outing is safe and enjoyable.

Safety Beyond the Boat
Safety isn’t just about driving the boat — it’s also about being aware of health and environmental risks. We ask clients to inform us of any medical conditions or swimming difficulties ahead of time, and advise all pregnant passengers to consult with a physician before booking. These measures aren’t for paperwork — they are to protect our guests.
Passengers and drivers must remain sober and alert during rentals. Alcohol or narcotics impair judgment and pose a serious risk not only to those on board, but to others sharing the sea.
Furthermore, all passengers are expected to follow crew or company instructions at all times. These directives are based on years of experience and are in place to avoid harm, minimize risks, and manage emergencies should they arise.

Prepared for the Unexpected
Boats are mechanical machines, and while we maintain them meticulously, technical issues can happen. If any problem arises before a trip begins, in case we do not have an alternative solution, clients are fully refunded for the deposit. In cases of bad weather conditions, we reserve the right to cancel or delay rentals. Your safety is far more important than sticking to a schedule. We monitor maritime conditions closely and will never send you out if we believe the sea poses any danger.

A Shared Responsibility
At Bluewaves, we recognize that everyone on the water has a shared responsibility. That’s why we are firm in enforcing return times, late arrival protocols, and safe usage of engine power. Boats are for cruising — not racing — and reckless behavior can endanger lives.
Our deposit system — including a €500 security deposit where applicable — is designed to protect both the equipment and the safety standards we uphold. It ensures that every renter treats our boats with respect and care.
People Before Profits
We understand that renting a boat is about fun, freedom, and relaxation. But for us, it’s also about responsibility — to our clients, our waters, and our fellow mariners. By choosing Bluewaves Watersports, you’re not just booking a boat; you’re partnering with a team that puts people before profits, and safety before shortcuts.
Enjoy the waves.
