Luzzu boat Charter More Information

Charter our traditional Maltese Luzzu for an unforgettable journey, accommodating up to 10 people. Immerse yourself in Mediterranean heritage aboard this iconic vessel, known for its vibrant colors and distinctive design. The Luzzu charter combines authenticity with comfort, making it ideal for family gatherings, social events, or a relaxing day with friends on the water. Revel in the serene sea ambiance, enjoy breathtaking coastal views, and create lasting memories. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely cruise or a spirited adventure, the Luzzu charter embodies the charm and tradition of the Maltese seas.

One of the most distinctive and culturally rich symbols seen on Malta’s traditional Luzzu boats is the Eye of Osiris, or “Il-Għajn” in Maltese. Painted on each side of the boat’s bow, this ancient symbol is believed to have protective powers, guarding those at sea from harm and bringing good fortune. The Eye of Osiris is not only a striking feature but also a powerful reminder of Malta’s deep cultural roots and the islanders’ enduring relationship with the sea.

Today, the Eye of Osiris remains an integral part of the Luzzu, keeping the tradition alive for both locals and tourists. While some Luzzu boats are now used for tourism and leisure, the presence of the eye is a steadfast reminder of the vessel’s original purpose and the centuries-old customs that continue to thrive. Even as the Luzzu adapts to modern uses, the eye remains unchanged—a symbol of resilience, culture, and Malta’s deep bond with the Mediterranean.

Whether you’re admiring a Luzzu from the shore or embarking on a traditional Luzzu charter, the Eye of Osiris serves as a fascinating touchpoint between Malta’s ancient past and vibrant present. This eye doesn’t just guard the boat—it embodies the spirit and identity of Malta itself, linking every Luzzu to a long tradition of courage, hope, and respect for the sea.Read More
